Don't Get Bogged Down

In
the last blog, we discussed Moving Forward and the unknown. What is so
interesting about Moving Forward to the unknown is that there has to be a
purpose and destination that God has for us. The moment that we turn our lives
over to Christ Jesus and move toward our purpose and destiny is the moment that
the enemy attacks and places obstacles and setbacks in our lives. Sometimes it
may feel like every step we make then something tries to push us back two
steps. What
I have learned over my life and walk with God is that regardless of the
situation, we have to keep moving. We have to persevere through it all.
Setbacks should not dictate our lives. Setbacks should not stop us living our
abundant life. Setbacks should not send us into depression. Our lives mean more
than whatever the setback is in our life. Don’t fall into the woe is me
mentality. God
has a purpose for our lives. In that purpose, the promise is also there. The
promise of joy. The promise of success. The promise of an abundant life. So,
when obstacles arrive, we should not get discourage but understand they won’t
stop our momentum. We may ask ourselves if we have what it takes to not get
bogged down with the issues of life. The answer is yes. In I
John 5:4-5 (NKJV) For whatever is born of God
overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world —our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he
who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. So, because we are believers and
followers of Christ Jesus, there is no obstacle that we can’t overcome. Why?
Because Jesus already overcame the world and has given us the tools to stay
focus and keep moving through our faith, trust, and hard work. So, Let’s not get bogged down with issues or
setbacks in our lives and keep moving forward in our purpose. God has blessed
us and we can’t allow outside forces to allow us to forget it. |

Happy
New Year everyone! 2019 is now upon us all. We have all been blessed to see
another year. The one thing that the New Year reminds us of is that no matter what happens in life you have to keep moving in one direction, forward. Time doesn’t allow you to go back and make different decisions. We can only look back at great memories with family and friends or to learn from mistakes and teachable moments. Regardless of it all, we have to turn around. Look at what is around us and move forward. Moving Forward is a difficult thing to do sometimes. We can get satisfied with where we are. We can dwell on the past too much. How can we concentrate on our purpose and destiny if we are constantly worried about what has happened in our past whether it was yesterday, last week, last month, last year, or 10 to 30 years ago? Let it go so you can live the life that God has in store for you. Moving
Forward also means that we have to trust in the Lord and have Faith when we may
be afraid to do it. As long as the Lord is directing and leading, we should not
fear. We have to Focus on staying connected to God. And moving forward in our
purpose. Matthew 14:28-29 (NKJV)
states:And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come
to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come
down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. We have to get out of the boat into
the treacherous waters of the unknown. In
the same way, if the Lord has opened up the doors to new things for our lives,
then we have to step out of the boat, focus on those new things from God, and
give God the praise for helping us to walk on the water of the unknown to the
success and life He wants us to have. So, let us Move Forward in Christ and walk through
the door in order for 2019 to be the year that we show our faith in the Lord
and we live the abundant life that is promised to us. |
